While my portraits and image sequencing convey a somewhat romantic vision, I do not intend to obscure the searing realities of Nigeria—wealth inequality, traumatic conflict, and hardship that have touched many communities. Instead, I aim to highlight the dignity I have consistently recognised in this place and its people.
My work seeks to celebrate the timeless and pure qualities that have endured beyond the day’s politics and to challenge how the outside world perceives Nigeria. I hope that “Living Nigeria” offers a window into everyday realities—celebrating both the ordinary and extraordinary moments that make this place unique.
